We have done this with marshmallows and toothpicks. I like the idea of using spaghetti. You could have longer pieces, but would it be as strong?

@kandkids Thanks! It wasn't a model of anything, just a creation. But it looked like it was fun building and playing with it afterwards.

@chrisf It was fun - he spent some time building it, and then the lego people came out to claim it for climbing and fighting. :)

@jenniferruge I think it was the fun of it - how to make it sturdy enough even with such fragile material. Took him a couple of trial and error attempts, as the long noodles would break easily, and you have to figure out where the extra support is needed. For the little one, I broke the spaghetti in half - he still got frustrated a couple of times that they broke in his hands.
