I see these jugs on our bathroom window sill everyday and it's normally their colours that I notice. But now, with my 'B&W eyes', I studied the shapes and the tones. And since we are reminded that B&W is not intended to be a representation of reality, but rather an interpretation of it - I decided to give these jugs a dreamy quality because looking at them makes me feel very peaceful.
For the technicians, this was developed mainly in the red channel.
You can see a straight colour version of this in my Doubletakes album for today.
Love the processing and think it works brilliantly in b&w the dreaminess is lovely. ... you are obviously putting some amount of thought into this. I am now feeling a bit guilty about my filler of a NikEffex processed shot. Hey ho!
Even I like the B&W version better - the unity in tones gives more prominence to the shapes, and for me shape comes before glaze as a potter! Well done!
I love the b&w version of this photo and I like the peaceful effect your processing has had. Wonderful photo - the b&w really shows off the wonderful shapes.
