@ianplimmer Would you believe that it was lit with a LED torch Ian. I took some shots using a ring flash, but they lacked the drama I was looking for, so I tried the torch.
@happysnap I'm still learning about it Linda: initially, I was very sceptical that I could capture the beauty of these flowers in B&W... in the event, I'm rather pleased with the result. Thank you for your nice comment.
@vignouse I agree, Richard. Tulips without color? I would have scoffed. But these are so dramatic this way, I don't even wonder what color they are/were. Well done!

@vignouse Back in the days of film, I bought a ring light that was attached with a cable. I almost never used it as a ringlight -as you say, no drama -, but I'd fasten it to a handy stick and use it as off-camera flash out in the woods,
