My Get Pushed partner for week 103, Kiran @ikamera, issued me the following challenge - " I would like you to capture a portrait portraying an emotion, any emotion. Self portrait or portrait of others."
I took my car in for a 4 year service today and whilst I was waiting, I took the opportunity to look at the latest models. This is Vincent, one of the salesmen who himself took the opportunity to try to sell me one of the new models (he may well yet have succeeded). Here is the look of bemusement on his face as he turns from the computer screen to talk to me, only to find himself talking to a chunky DLSR!
Oh, well done - you knew he was going to have a good expression on his face! I daresay you explained that you were not making sure he was doing the right thing and recording his face!
He must have missed the double meaning in your search for the "latest models" :) This expression is priceless - you caught him before he had time to put on a filter. The emotion was imediate and pure.
@ikamera Hi Kiran - here's a second offering for this week's Get Pushed challenge - this probably more the sort of thing you had in mind... at least, I hope it is.
@hinkkd Thank you Kathleen - the choice of B&W was mine for two reasons. I prefer character portraits in B&W and, secondly, the poster behind him was very highly coloured and pulled the eye away from my main subject.
Sneaky. Great image though. Very clean and great converted to B/W. The front blur on the hand and the back blur on the ficus leaves work nicely together Richard. And the new car?
A well met challenge, Richard. It's a super candid - it encourages us to make up our own story which probably would be quite different from your commentary but what's photography got to do with truth? :-) Of course you will now have to buy a car from him!
