This is a view from one of the high points of Paimpont as you emerge from the forest and just below Le Manoir du Tertre. The wind farm on the horizon is about 9 kilometres away and you can see that around mid-distance between there and where I was standing, the rain is bucketing down.
I like the textures and the drama in this photo but I hate that the horizon is on the centre line. I didn't want to include the wide expanse of the field in the foreground and I couldn't bear to crop that wonderfully angry sky, so this is what you get today... classic composition fault notwithstanding!
Look at those wind turbines in the background! I like that you gave those interesting, billowing clouds a large portion of the frame. Not that the countryside is boring!! No! Nice textures.
@pippie Well thank you Linda, but the Fav button doesn't appear to have worked as it's not showing in my stats... could you possibly give it another little push please - thanks.
What I love about this is the contrast of where I start looking, at the house, looks like the quintessential, charming house that I imagine surrounds your countryside. Then I look up and there is a modern day wind farm! Also the puffy clouds with the sunshine to the right and then seeing the rainfall to the left. Love it!
Altho' the horizon line is about centre, that line of cloud just above it creates a lift to the closer sky which is very appealing. I love the quietude of b&w.
