And so we come to the end of Flash-of-Red/B&W February for this year and I've chosen to finish with a subject that is not so often photographed in B&W but should be in my opinion. The delicate form and shape of many flowers is often eclipsed by their colours, be they vivid or subtle but, as I hope this image shows, a flower can be just as beautiful in shades of grey.
Fantastic, I certainly agree, colour in this instance would have absolutely drowned out the texture and fibres of the flowers petals. Also the ambient light would be disguised by the sometimes overpowering colours. Again, a wonderful exposure :)
