La Roche Bernard: Le Vieux Quartier by vignouse

La Roche Bernard: Le Vieux Quartier

Le Vieux Quartier - the old quarter - of La Roche Bernard dates from the 15thC and was formerly the area which housed the entrepreneurs and traders who used the inland port for importing and exporting local produce. Today, a large part is still residential and is very appealing with a mix of old buildings and steep little pedestrian streets, as seen here. Apart from the sattelite dish on the chimney of the merchant's house in the centre, this scene probably looks much the same as it did 250 years ago.
How lovely! Makes me want to take a wander down the street.

Very scenic. If you hadn't mentioned the dish, I don't think I would have noticed it.

Beautifully processed. The colours and textures have been treated very sympathetically. I can feel the cool of these foreground walls. Magic. BIG fave, well deserved.

A very inviting view... the lines of the street really lead the viewer right down the stairway. Wonderful, how the planters are built into the walls! Your processing suits the view nicely... not at all overdone, just complimentary to the scene.

Don't overlook the down pipe Richard! I quite like the touch of modernity in an olde world scene. This is beautifully composed and lit.
