On 15th April, I posted an image of the old waste handling plant for our area - http://365project.org/vignouse/365/2015-04-24 - which consisted essentially of a chute, down which the waste was pushed to be sorted arbitrarily for burning or burial. The replacement plant is currently being constructed... this is about one sixth of the total plant. If its efficacy is half as good as its sophisticated appearance suggests, then we should be a lot 'greener' in the future!
One wonders what happens to all the rubbish! We seem to bury ours. This is a good looking building but of course it will take energy to operate so is not without cost!
Awesome on black, nicely done I've had a tour of a similar plant in the past. I believe that the round cylinder has a rotating drum in it that somehow sorts the waste into it's relevant group...no idea how it works!
Do you recycle before this point. We have what they call one sort recycle. Then the trash is hauled away out of town. This looks very hi-tech. Like you think they were making atoms of something.
