I promised myself recently, that given the quantity of extremely high quality flower, insect and bird images on 365, I would no longer try to compete against them. This week has been difficult though as I have been on duty at Paimpont Abbey all week with little time for photography, so when I had a few spare minutes this lunchtime, I looked for inspiration in the garden.
The lavender has been in bloom for several weeks and is now well past its best, but it continues to attract large numbers of feeding insects like this moth, which has become my 'broken promise' post today.
This is another of those images that pop best viewed on black...
The details and light in this shot are terrific. This is a stunner. Thanks for putting it up. With a result like this, it would have been a mistake to keep your word.
Well you've made a good job of it Richard. As for being competitive take the advice of one older than you.. follow your interests and do your own thing! :-)
Look at that face and fabulous long snout (whatever its called) Proboscis? Anyway, outstanding pic and keep on- love getting those close up glimpes of critters we otherwise would never know!
Terrific shot. There is a million of every shot if you look. The project shouldn't be about pleasing others all the time. It should be about reaching as a photographer or about capturing what is important to you. Least that is what I tell myself when I post a bee picture, or another bird. And I would be delighted to have this moth picture in my project.
