... the daily post that nearly didn't happen. Today has been a bit trying: we left Chinon this morning to travel 650 kilometres down to the Département of the Drome down in the south-east corner of France. It rained and stormed heavily for the whole journey making driving conditions somewhat hazardous, especially in a large Motor Home/RV. We eventually arrived and parked up just before 8pm in the town of Crest - pronounced 'Cray'.
After well-deserved aperitifs and a welcome dinner my thoughts turned to my 365 post for the day so I put on my waterproof, tucked a camera under it and ventured out in the rain for the 15 minute squelch into town... which was deserted - almost.
This is a rearview of the only other people mad enough to brave the rain. The blue reflections come from the neon sign across the road which reads 'Marchés de Nuit' (Night Markets) - at least it does if you look at it from the other side... but I liked this view best.
I really enjoy a "wet pavement" shot, although too bad you had to squelch through the rain. Lovely contrasts of blue against the yellow/gold. Glad you made it to your destination safely.
SInce on this weekend we had rain and fog more than sunshine I can imagine how trying it was as I often thought I was glad I was in a car. I am beginning to think I may never get caught up. Don't suppose everyone would hold off until I do.
