Encounter on a Forest Path

This is a bit of a departure for me - let me explain. Whilst out with our walking group in the forest this afternoon we crossed paths with the local hunt. As this hunter and his dogs came towards me on the narrow forest track, my immediate thought was that it was like a scene from a painting. So when I came to process my photos this evening, it just seemed right to give this one a painterly style. I think I like it, but it is rather different from my normal style... it's good to experiment I guess.
Love it painter style and all!

@maggiemae Thank you Maggiemae - I started and finished in LR CC, but I did the 'heavy lifting' in Topaz Adjust.

A winning departure.

@maggiemae It is a plug-in but it also works with Lightroom which is where I use it as most of my processing is done in LR.

Wonderful processing....so evocative of Old Masters, paintings depicting hunting scenes with hounds, so well done!! So glad you followed your gut feeling and experimented....this turned out great!!

It fits the subject very well Richard. You would be well suited to an art photography course it seems! :-)

I am not normally a fan of the painterly effect, but this is lightly done and I have to say I like it a lot.
