This is a complement to my post for 2 October and is taken from the same bridge over the river Blavet at Pontivy, but looking in the opposite direction.
The light on the faces of the building as well as that rounded face of the church is just right for a b&W. The ripples in the water are beautiful too! fav
B&W really favours the house styles of the era with their mansard windows. Love the POV, leading to the still water before the river narrows. Beautiful tones and textures.
The wide river taking the whole foreground, a classic wide angle technique, is lovely. Lots of interest and most suitably sharp with a wide tonal gamut. Fav.
Where you are is exactly the opposite of where I find myself.....life over there is centered on the river the flows through the town, not the ocean that washes it all away into the horizon, you have bridges to connect the two sides, whereas our piers jut into the ocean, and of course, your light is so much more subtle and diffuse, not to mention the wonderful urban architecture. Great scene!
