After almost two years on here it's easy to find yourself doing stuff that you've done a dozen or more times before, which isn't why most of us started our projects - for me at least, the goal was to grow my abilities and expand my repertoire.
That hasn't happened much of late, so today's image is a conscious effort to do something different. It may not be exactly Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall... but that was the mood I was aiming for.
Needless to say perhaps but to do it justice, this needs to be viewed on black!
Wow! This reminds me of the famous Edward Hopper piece at the Art Institute. Of course, it doesn't look like it except in spirit -- that feeling of looking in on a scene from the outside, the quiet time...just great!
After two years, I am feeling I am repeating myself coming up to year one. Now this picture looks fresh to me, and you have captured a moment. I also like the vignetting..
This is great. The well-lite interior draws the eyes in to study all the details, and of course the element of human interaction always makes for interesting photography. Congrats on finding new subject and style to add to your project.
There´s something very pleasing about this scene and shot, love the light and love the strong shadows. film noir I simply must fav this, it has captivated me
We all have those areas that become comfortable. Not easy always to find the time to push ourselves. I want to play with lighting and can't find my flash. Haven't used it forever. But I'm thinking you didn't use much if any flash here. Wonderful and definitely something different.
Before I read your words I had no idea who could have posted this, Richard, so that should please you ... as should my immediate thought: Film Noir! You can't help making faves can you! :-)
Great find, wonderful light, excellent processing, absolutely exquisite on black with the two men anchoring and framing the sparkling scene at the bar....very well done....and, thank you for stretching "your wings"....I think that's what we all aim for, but then get in a rut! Thank you for the inspiration! And, congratulations on TT this week...so deserving! Oh, and FAV!
I am willing to participate in the film , shooting at the US tells us that this young woman is in danger!FAV
