I've featured these boulders before - only two of them in this photo as the third is further back buried in the undergrowth - but today you get the story.
The three enormous boulders are of a completely different rock to that found locally, so how did they get there? The legend is that three fairies heard of the marvellous construction of Mont St Michel and wanted to help so they brought these huge stones. While they were still on route though and resting for a while, they heard that they were too late and the construction was finished... so they left the boulders where they were!
What is interesting is that the boulders are exactly half-way between Mont St Michel and Carnac which is famous for its hundreds of standing stones.
