Another picture from the concert at Paimpont Abbey that featured in my two posts yesterday... view on black if you can.
A word of explanation: you may have noticed that my posting and, especially, my commenting have been rather sporadic over the last 9 days. Here is the reason: on the overnight ferry to the UK, I fell in the middle of the night while trying to get down from the top bunk in the dark. I caught my foot on the top of the ladder and fell forward smashing my face against the bottom of the ladder. I suffered a gash on my left cheek down to the bone; bit through my bottom lip and badly twisted my leg. I bled copiously due to the fact that I take a strong anti-coagulant which makes me into an artificial haemophiliac - Mrs S said that the next morning the cabin looked like an abattoir, which indeed it did. I suffered moderate concussion from which I am still feeling the after-effects - normal service will be resumed as soon as possible... I hope!
ai-ai-aieee! Glad you are on the mend, but that had to be horrifying for both of you. And I just looked up "abattoir"....and for some reason I can't stop laughing...not what I expected. I am sure Mrs. S is an excellent nurse.
Oh my, Richard! So sorry to hear about your fall and injuries. I hope you are well soon!
Love this photo (as well as the color one from yesterday). Great clarity of the singer with nice inclusion of members of her band.
Oh my goodness, Richard Sayer...that sounds like a terrible accident. I hope that you heal swiftly. Mrs. S must have been very upset with your injuries. This is a terrific shot with super lighting and details. Take care.
Some floor show! The number of times R has survived such events is legion. I think he's on God's Keep Safe List. On leaving the scene, we sought out the cabin cleaning staff to forewarn them of what could have been otherwise interpreted as carnage.
Whilst neither of us panic, we go into sangfroid mode and deal with the situation. We’ve had plenty of practice! In summary, he's better, much better than he was. Yet as some of you mentioned, the concussion takes longer to resolve itself...and rightly so.
OMG Richard I really missed your usual England shots and just figured you were busy visiting. Please take care because visiting your prject is a must for me.
A nice shot of these musicians. I do hope Mrs. S. is observing you carefully as well as you yourself. Be easy on yourself and be careful. Hope you feel better soon.
oh dear richard - so sorry to read this. glad to see from mrs s that you are recovering gradually. from my experience with sons with concussions, they need time to get over ... i do hope you'll continue with your project, in whatever form works for you ... i would miss your wonderful b&w images of france if not
Oh dear, Richard.. so sorry. Your injuries sound a bit nasty... may take a while to heal I think, so take it easy and and don't push yourself too much in your eagerness to resume normality
Oh my, reading only now, so sorry for the accident! My best wishes for a fast healing, besides those for a happy new year, Richard. You and Margo are a reference point here. Take care: all my sincere, friendly thoughts for you!
