A Year of Days: Day 13 - Jean-François said - "What's a selfie?"
I was out with the Tuesday walking group this afternoon and taking advantage of the forest walk to take some photographs. My friend Jean-François asked why the camera had a swivelling screen: "So that you can easily take photos from different viewpoints," I said, "...and selfies."
"What's a selfie?", he asked.
Now he knows... ;-)
Thank you for all your kind comments yesterday on this 'diary' album and I'm glad that you have enjoyed my little slices of daily life... but I am going to go ahead with making it resricted access in order to relieve the pressure of having to make two public posts every day. I thought this made a suitable valedictory image...
mmmmm... I think I prefer 'l'auto-portrait'... and an excellent l'auto portrait it is. Such warm and friendly smiles. Might you switch to Public after a little time so that we can see your A Year of Days photos without them clogging up our home pages?
@jocasta You've been reading my mind Joy! I confess to being rather taken aback and humbled by the response to my 'snaps' and I was thinking today that once a week or once a month, I might do just that. It's just that, so far this year, I've spent as much or more time on my 'diary' photo as on my main entry and I was looking to halve my 365 workload, not double it!
Just gorgeous, the genuine, warm hearted smiles are delightful. If only all portraits or selfies could ooze with the same charismatic charm. Nice work Richard.
@jamibann As I mentioned in the 6th comment down, young people who are into texting , Facebook and the like all know about 'le selfie' but for most people, if they know the genre at all, it would be 'un auto-portrait'.
