@tracie8266 Thank you for the nice comment and the Fav. I deliberately processed this in a dramatic manner for the same reasons I mentioned in yesterday's shot "The young shall inherit the earth...". I did some initial tidying up in Lightroom 5 - a crop, sensor spot removal and removal of pavement rubbish and I then exported the image to Colour Efex Pro 4. There I applied two filers, Tonal Contrast and Detail Extractor including levels adjustments within each. I then took the image back into Lightroom for some final twaeking of levels and tones - as well as desaturating the colours, I also applied an overall blue tone to suggest a cinematic look. It will be too much for some tastes but I'm happy with the result.
Thanks for the explanation of process here Richard. The result works for me and I too process in like manner with some of my shots. I tend to use Topaz and OnSoft as my preferred filter sets but have used Efex in the past.
Excellent comp and processing. The textures really come out and the colors do not prevail in an imposing way, which I love because the scenery is so wonderful and the position of the textor (or should it be texter) and the friend looking away plays up the drama all-together. Love your eye as always. :)
