Lac de Guerlédan: Remains of a way of life

Another view of the drained reservoir featured in my main 365 post for today.
Gorgeous capture! Love the texture, and POV.

Great perspective, I love how defined everything is. The sand is cracked the building foundation and the contrast between the wet and dry ground is wonderful

Another great capture. I like this version but think I like the black & white version better.

The drying mud makes great patterns.

Curious why the three walls all ended up in triangle shape.

@joansmor I have a tale to tell you about this Joan: it's common for houses in France to have a roof, mostly slate, and particularly so as this house is spitting distance from a slate mine, indeed the whole house is built of slate. Slate roofs are sloping supported by triangular gables... is the light dawning yet? Yes, the walls on this side of the house are buried under several metres of silt leaving only the gables apparent. You can also see four oak beams still in place - it is the only house in the valley to have retained any of its beams whilst submerged. Oh, I enjoyed that ;-))

A fascinating photo, with great detail and textures.

I should have guessed that. Often our brick or stone walls go up straight and we have boards into the points of the roof. I am rightly put into my place.
