PLAY January - Nikon 50mm f/1.4G: Étang du Pont Dom Jean
Another 'pond' today; Paimpont has over 20 of varying sizes... this one, in the heart of the forest, has a surface area of several hectares and has a twin just next door - L'Étang du Pré (the Meadow Pond). You might think that this would be more properly called a lake than a pond but the difference is whether the ingress and outfall of water is via a stream or simply water draining from the surrounding land. The only living things present today as far as I could see were yours truly and a fishing heron... he's the white speck on the shore top left-ish!
This is for my PLAY project - you can read more about it in my profile - where I'll be using a different prime lens for each month of the year: in January it's the Nikon 50mm f/1.4G on a full-frame camera (the D610 today).
@joansmor This is right in the heart of the forest: it wasn't cold but there was a rather persistent drizzly rain all afternoon, so the camera spent most of the time tucked inside my coat.
Like the textures very much. In Australia that would qualify as a lake; any standing body of water larger than a swimming pool is put to use as a reservoir for the city.
