I've published a hundred consecutive photos in 100 days! Since I began, taking a daily photo has become a big part of my life. I think I've improved a lot since I started this journey and I've gained confidence in my ability, but there's still a long way to go. I suppose I will never be happy as there's always room for improvement.
I decided to try classic still life photography today. I planned on doing it yesterday, but the rainbow I saw changed that idea. However once I get a thought in my head I have to follow it through, so today I set up something and did a shoot in my kitchen.
I tried this at various apertures from f/1.8 to f/8, and I felt the smaller aperture with more in focus was the better option. I set this up near the window so the natural light could hit it from an angle and the shadow would be prominent.
You might have noticed something new in today's photo. I wanted to add a watermark, so for simplicity's sake I have added my signature in the corner. It may evolve over time. I have thought about adding a watermark for a while, so I thought this landmark day was as good a day as any to begin. I'm not suggesting my photos are worthy of copyright theft, but on the Web you can never be sure. I know it's not the most difficult to remove but a small deterrent is a hindrance nonetheless.
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.

Hi Dorrena, I scanned my signature and then processed it in Photoshop by inverting it (to white), and put it on a transparent background. I then added it in Lightroom, but that can be done in Photoshop too.
Congrats on 100... doesn't time fly! Know what you mean about photography becoming a big part of your life.. I keep seeing Weng's pics and am giving some thought to joining a club/class...
Great shot , looks like the apple snow white bit into !!! love the colouring and the shadows . Happy 100 !!! sure has been awesome watching ur pics each day .. keep em coming
cool idea mate. as for models, well that depends - they either get paid for it or they do TF (Time For) where they get the photos which they do if their portfolio can use it.
This is absolutely beautiful! Keep up the great work! I know how you feel in regards to having the daily act of taking a photo become a part of you. It's something I look forward to every day and has become a fabric of my daily life.
Congrats on making a 100 successfully! I am only on day 16 and can already feel that is quite an accomplishment. You put so much thought into your shots and I can appreciate the details that go into your thought process. Like the watermark and the photo is great, too!
Congrats on your 100th shot! I am absolutely blown away! I would never have had any idea that this is only your 100th photo with this project, your work is so great!
I love the idea of making your signature your watermark! That is so uniquely you - it's perfect. I recently starting marking some of my favorite photos with a watermark (this is just a special addition that I enjoy putting a little extra 'me' into these select shots) I think that anyone can have a watermark, it's just a sign of ownership over your work & your portfolio is so beautiful that you deserve to be loud and proud! : )
Vik congrats on the 100! I really like the color of the apple and the really interesting background in this shot, it looks like a really old book or something.....
I really like your watermark too, simple and non-intrusive. I have also been thinking about it for a bit too, as you said, I dont think my stuff is good enough to be really worried about theft, but any deterrent is better than none.
Congratulations on 100. This is wonderful - I love the contrast between the brightness of the apple and the script. In reply to your question, we don't live in Nottingham (quite far away near cambridge) but we have a narrowboat moored in Nottingham - we spend time on the boat whenever we can!
I think you are smart to sign it. If I were you I would consider a true water mart. You are that good. I started signing mine, even though I do know for sure that I am not good yet. But you never know when I will accidentally do a good one lol.
Great shot!
