The mundanity of domesticity. It's not exciting, but I bought a shiny new bin for my kitchen at the weekend. I unboxed it last night, and tonight I used it for the first time. Yawn...
As I pushed the pedal and broke the bin's virginity, I noticed the interesting reflections its curvature was providing. I thought it might make an interesting photo.
This was the first of the few shots I took. I increased the clarity and contrast, converted it to black and white and flipped it horizontally.
You may wonder why I flipped the photo. Well, because English is my native language, I and others whose first language is of European origin naturally read from left to right. This actually effects how we in the West view images, as we scan them in the same way. This means we can't help but feel that images that 'flow' from left to right are usually more appealing. I wonder how this has affected Middle-Eastern and Far Eastern imagery throughout the ages, as respectively people from those regions have tended to read from right to left and top to bottom.
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.

that there is bloody brilliant (ok, ok, it might be because the patterns remind me a little of the dark spiderman's suit and therefore increases my geek persona a little too openly)
The processing you do is spot on. I seriously need to start noting shapes and patterns more.
