Love your title. Interesting symmetry and would be fun to go back in a few weeks and see what sprouted from the pots.
Not sure if even copious volumes of rooting hormone would help those bits of bamboo sprout 🤪

My guess would be these are sticks for a vine to climb. In my experience bamboo is invasive and once rooted very difficult to eliminate. Terrific light and shadows in this symmetrical image

Although still no idea of what was planned. There were another two rows of pots to the far left.
