Really find this not a very pleasant shot....which I think must mean that it its really effective and very well done, photography that evokes emotion..therefore a fav.
@snippet It didn't get any award. Eric Lippey / Kerry Boytell were the judges. They said they were divided on this image and found the image not pleasant. As per them, a portrait should be flattering to the subject :-)
Regardless, I still like it and will probably enter it in Image of the year later this year :-)
@snippet I'm actually not surprised. I was sort of expecting it, going by their comments on a lot of other images.
It doesn't matter though. Judges are entitled to their opinion and I respect that :-)
Hopefully the next one will be able to see what I was trying to convey
