Just one more shot for my shoe challenge this week. These are my running shoes (one pair of them anyway). I got these minimalist, 5 finger shoes to attempt to help my arthritic knees (why the heck does a 30 something have arthritis so young?!). I ran a marathon in my 20's and improperly/under trained and they have been shot ever since. So glad that I can still do shorter distances (3 miles and under), but sad that my marathon and long distance days are through.
It's surprisingly quite hard taking photos of your own feet using a zoom lens. I almost fell over while attempting a plie' and taking a photo.
Aren't these wacky looking shoes? I remember the first time I saw them, I couldn't stop staring.
Horrid side note: I dropped my camera today on the hard tile floor. I was wearing it around my neck and had my hands full. The strap slipped off and it crashed to the ground. It still works. Hope that it didn't suffer any injury.:( Pretty sickening. It's like when you ding your new car for the first time.
Can't believe they make them like this - must be uncomfortable between the toes! Poor you with arthritis - know lots of young people too. Hey, I dropped my first 365 camera - not far- and the extending lens wouldn't work - it is flat out bust!
Really funny shoes! Cool shot, like the light. Ouch, hope your camera is just shocked and not injured!
BTW thank you very much for prompting me to enter my photo "Red Hot" into the EOTB2 challenge on 10th Feb - to my utter astonishment it actually won! I wouldn't have entered it at all hadn't you of mentioned it.
They look pretty space age! I have heard that they are very good for your feet and legs though. Sorry to hear about you dropping your camera, hope its ok!
Interesting shot, with the colours and shadows. I had some of those running shoes and couldn't run for weeks after, have to slowly break yourself in to them apparently.
Awesome!! I have 2 pairs of Vibrams!!! :) I love them! I've run in them for over a year now! I am currently training for a half marathon with my sister :) I hope your knees feel better darling :) And amazing shadows here :) Love it! And so sorry to hear about the camera incident! Glad that nothing was damaged tho!
Hey guys...thanks so much for your comments on my funky running shoes. They are actually comfortable, but you have to run differently for them to be so...you can't heel strike which would would do in normal running shoes, but need to land more on the balls of your feet. They take some getting used to and you need to ease your way into wearing them. I only wear them part of the time and often wear another pair that is a little more like a regular shoe but still more minimal.
My camera seems to be shooting ok, but did upload 3 of each of my photos yesterday??? I can't seem to figure out why it uploads more than one of each photo...the manual and online aids are not helping! Sheesh!
aaaack about your camera... hope it's working properly despite loading your photos 3 times (!!!)
these are funky odd shoes, but what really had me laughing is your comment: "It's surprisingly quite hard taking photos of your own feet using a zoom lens. I almost fell over while attempting a plie' and taking a photo." :D can't say i've experienced this, but i often feel like i am going to fall while staring at reflections in floors and pavement... srsly not good for my health or sanity!
@northy Seems to be shooting fine still thankfully!! Oy! Glad that you liked my falling over bit and that you can relate. It's dangerous to be a photographer sometimes, huh?!
@edie Thank you, Edie! I'd been meaning to show them off and my shoe challenge seemed like the perfect time. You all freezing up there? We are icy and cold here. I want some snow. Could you send us some;-)??

@tbats22 They take a bit of getting used to, but are great once you do (except in the cold:).
@archaeofrog I just may have to look into that. Thanks, Katie!
