I started my project in 2012 during a big life change. I am a mom of 3 teens, wife of 23 years to my best friend and resident in southern Ohio, USA. I am a storyteller, a drama queen, a photographer, a lover of shadows, reflections and light, a preschool teacher, a follower of Christ, a goof ball, and a friend. I like dressing up (making up for not doing that as a kid) and I love doing selfies when the mood strikes)!

365 has opened my eyes to the little things and everyday beauty. It's helping my kids see and appreciate this, too, for which I am grateful! My 8 year old (when she was much littler) would often point to things and says, "What a pretty scene, mama!" and my 11 year old daughter got a camera for her birthday years ago and wants to post to 365, too. Not ready for that yet!!

I am a lady with little gear and the gear I have is pretty basic. I shoot with a Nikon D3400. I have the two kit lenses thus far, a 15-55 and a 55-200 zoom lens. And I recently got myself a 50mm lens for shooting my daughter's senior portraits. I edit using free software, mainly online Picmonkey and Gimp.

I still have much to learn, but I am really loving this process of becoming a better photographer. I welcome any feedback you have for me!

My photography goals for past years were to master the selfie, master light and learn my camera better. I'm getting there...still much to learn with the ins and outs of camera...another focus for this year. I'd love to be able to shoot in M if I wanted to. This year, I've decided that I want to be able to rock the portrait, and really do need to know the settings better, understand how it all works. Now that the kids are all in school, perhaps I can have more time to play around and learn. Still have only scratched the surface and have much to learn. I also hope to acquire some new gear to help me such as a reflector...and maybe eventually some studio lighting. Ha...and a new portrait/macro lens. I don't need much:).

When I started the 365 project, I was pretty consistent with it for 4-5 years mostly regularly taking photos and posting everyday. I wasn't working then, though and now that I work full time (and have 2 jobs) I am more of a pop oner every once in awhile.

Love this community and the friends I've made here over the years!
