I've wanted a good photo of a cardinal ever since I moved to Ohio about a year ago. It's our state bird and seeing their pretty red color always makes me smile. We didn't have cardinals in California so I'd been quite a few years without them. I've attempted a bunch of shots of them, but none have been great because they are always so camera shy.
Today this fella was just sitting on a nearby branch singing away. We stood and listened to him, while I snapped a few photos and finally got my good one.
It so feels like spring today. It's sunny and warmer, the daffodils are blooming, the trees are just starting to bud. I am feeling much better today, too. We took a walk in the sunshine to celebrate.
@sailingmusic No kidding, Myrna. How cool. I've only been here for about a year now, but I really love it. I was worried that I wouldn't because I came from Florida and California before here. It's so pretty and woodsy here, though!
@steampowered Thanks, Paul. It was such a beautiful day and so fun to find him singing.
@adamj They are such punks with the camera. This one was just enjoying the perfect day and singing his heart out. He was the first that wasn't bothered by me being around. Thanks, Adam!
@emrob I really appreciate that, Mandy. Thanks so much!
@darrenboyj Thanks so much for the fav, Darren. I loved this shot and was beginning to wonder what I did wrong;-). Appreciate you making me feel not so crazy;-)!
wow i love his vivid color against that blue sky and great composition. do you like your zoom? i don't have one that will come in this close! was it expensive? fav!
@moreyoulessme I do like it, but it is my only lens. I need a smaller kit lens or maybe a 50 or 35mm. Only and always having a zoom is a bit annoying. My shots are always close up!!:) Thanks for the fav, lady!!:) I think that they run $150-250, though new. Camera stuff is so flippin' expensive...thus one lens for me for now!
@mgozzard Thanks so much, Margaret!!:)
@ididntdoit87 Oh, Hillary, I do, too. They are so gorgeous! Thanks!
@dh Thanks so much, lady. It was a perfect day!
