I attempted this shot on three separate occasions. I loved the way the field grasses looked against the rustic fence line. I liked this shot the best, though I am not sure if I ever got it completely right. I'm a little annoyed that the dandelion is not better focused (but I'll admit to be getting sick of dandelions a bit, so maybe I did that on purpose). Thought I do like how focused the fence and the grasses in front of it are. I got my jeans muddy taking this shot. Hard core;-).
Please pray for my girls, if you are the praying type. They both have fevers and are unwell. I am uploading early because I will likely have a rough day with them tomorrow. Clara has it the worst and has torn up skin from itching it, asthma coughing, a belly button infection, etc. We are a mess around here:(.
It is a lovely grassy shot beside the fence! Hope you have some good cream to put on the itch and infection- here is a good recipe:
Combine 1 tbsp. baking soda with 1 tbsp. oatmeal and 2 tbsp. milk in a bowl. Stir the three ingredients to make an anti-itch paste.
2
Reduce the milk to 1 tbsp. and run all three ingredients through your food processor for a creamier paste.
such a pretty shot Amanda... but so sorry to hear your girls are ill... really hope it's a 24 hour thing and they mend quickly... AND no one else gets sick!
love the receding fence line amanda. so cool how it fades to black and makes the high grass stand out in contrast. and oh so sorry to hear about your girls; prayin' for their quick recovery!
Love that your subconscious is taking control of your photography now. I dreed to think what it might come up with. Lovely green again, it's wonderful and lush. I'm not the praying type but I do give great virtual hugs so sending some for your girl. Hope they make a speedy recovery.
Love the shot. You made me laugh about the dandelions. Sorry to hear your girls are unwell. Similar to the advice above I've bathed mine in oats and water when they've had chicken pox/skin infections. Sounds odd but works really well. Plus medicine and lots of telly! Sending lots of good wishes from the UK and appreciating how much hard work it is with sick children. Hope your day is ok.
I checked your Exif file and see that your camera's aperture setting was f4.2 which will result in a pretty shallow depth of field.
Sounds like you have two pretty sick little girls on your hands. I definitely believe in the power of prayer. I will for them, you and your husband!
@maggiemae Thanks so much for that recipe, Maggiemae. I've been bathing her in over the counter oatmeal for itchy skin. I may have to try this as she is still ripping at herself. Last night she bled through her jammies:(. Poor baby!
@skipt07 Thanks so much for that, both for the prayer and the aperture tips.
Thanks so very much for your well wishes for the girls and I and your lovely comments about my grassy fenceline. I am so drawn to country fences and love that they are so prevalent here. The girls are still unwell, but getting better. It's been a LONG week for this mama with sick kids. Yesterday, all 3 were home with me. Looking forward to the weekend...and to a restoration to health. So so grateful that we don't have anything chronic to deal with. Hope you are all well and wishing you a joyous weekend!

LOve this image. It has lovely summer feel.
Great shot! Love your POV and composition.
