Unable to come up with a witty title for this shot, I realized that the yawning lion mouth is in the shape of a letter C. I don't think that I could find a much cooler C than this, so here you go.
I think that the white lion was bored with all of my photos of him. Notice his bloody looking teeth. Someone needs a good tartar control toothpaste tooth brushing. I am NOT volunteering for that job.
After a busy long weekend, starting with a field trip on Friday, museum day on Saturday and amusement park trip yesterday, I am feeling like a lazy, yawning lion myself.
LOL... first thing I thought when I saw this image was how bad this lion needs to brush his teeth,and that some whitening is probably in order as well... then I read your description :)
Until you mentioned your amusement park trip, I was wondering if this was shot in your backyard!! He's a young one. I hope he is well cared for. Nice action pose there Amanda. I would definetly volunteer for the teeth cleaning. I love the big cats ;)
@adamj This was from my zoo trip a week or so ago. It may not be young? It's light colored as it is a white lion, like the 80's hair band. Loved that I caught it with it's jaws wide open. I've been wiped out and using fillers lately.
@amandal Must be going around. I'm wiped out too. My excuse is that I am in the midst of a big relocation. Ugh :( Still, may post a fitness tip shot tonight?

@megmills I am trying to capture the whole alphabet this year. I gave myself the year to find them all. I am a little more than halfway there I think. Not all of my letters are this dramatic. I wish they were. You can find all of the letters at the tag: alpha-2013. Others have been posting theirs in there as well.

Thanks so much for your great comments on my C find. I only wish that all of my found alphabet was this dramatic. I am more than halfway there and maybe have 10 letters to go. Though I may redo some of the more boring ones.
@taffy I am right there with you chica. I sorta got bored with it. Most of the shots are Waaay less dramatic than this one. I want them to all be this way! Why can't the lion make all of the letters for me? Ohhh, how cool would it be to find them ALL at the zoo?
@thirtysevenways It was an amazing place for photos. Last year I had a p&s and got some good shots. This year, my dslr made all the difference in the world!
Even though he doesn't have pearly whites, I'm sure he has an excellent dental plan at the zoo. The policy just doesn't cover cosmetic procedures like whitening. ;-)
They are pretty grungy looking, but maybe the lionesses don't mind.
