I did one of these last year in California the day Michael got his offer from GE, but wanted to try it again with my new camera. I'll admit, it's pretty cool to lie underneath these guys and hear their powerful buzz and feel all dizzy with the great height above you .
In high school, I took geometry in summer school to catch up with my friends for the following year. It was a pretty wretched class to take in the summer with 6 or so hours a day of math. I was always a good student, but math wasn't really my strong point. I got my first C in geometry, I think. From Mr. Cannon. He didn't seem to like me because I probably talked and laughed too much with my girl friends in class. I seem to remember him moving my seat across the room to keep me quiet. Mr. Cannon.
And now I am a Nikon girl. But I think my love of lines started in that class so some good came out of it. But I'm off on a tangent, so I will sine off for now;-).
Great shot, love the pov and the lines and geometric patterns. Great contrast with the blue sky too. Love it! Love your story too, was always utterly useless at maths so can relate on that front!
@bobfoto Great minds. It was way less cool a feeling to be taking this shot the second time around. Not as awe inspiring. Good to be friends now, though:).
@adamj When I did this for the first time last year, I was woozy under there. It was really strange. This time it didn't do that to me. Maybe last year's was taller? You've got to try it sometime. It's pretty fun. Thanks, Adam. And thanks to you, I've been craving steak all week.
@snaggy Oh it was very dangerous! Almost. I felt more so the first time I did it. This time was pretty tame. I don't even know if there was that buzz going on which makes it seem more risky. Shoot;-).
This is spectacular! I would find the buzzing more than a little creepy. Also I love that you managed to sneak a camera-name and sine-pun into one story.
Looks great against the blue sky Amanda. It is quite a thrill to stand / lie under them isn't it. On my bucket list to get one of these shots. Well done.
@archaeofrog Maybe something about needing someone to cosine for me on a loan or something?!;-)
@rennes Glad you can relate to the talking too much in school bit. I think that I was just the louder one and always seemed to get caught. Me and my biiiiiig mouth;-). Thanks, Lisa!
Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments. I seriously recommend trying one of these shots sometime if you haven't already. It's neat to feel so small beneath the power. A very cool perspective for sure.

@amandal Nice geometry and perspective to this one.
@playswithlight Yikes, I don't often hear legs compliments on my power line shots, but um, thanks!
@tabbycat Thank you, maam!
