The wolf whistle ripped shrilly through the cold night air. Inwardly, Red cringed. “Wolves with money are friends” she forced herself to whisper. She reached into her cloak and touched the tip of the dagger hidden in the folds, looked up, flashed a winning grin and headed toward the car.
I finally got up the gumption to dress up like this and go outside again for this photo shoot. It was cold and the red hood didn't offer much in the warmth department. A few quick shots and it was a wrap.
Good news...no squad cars were making their rounds down the street last night and no neighbors came home during the time. But I did feel eyes on me from one of the neighbors windows. I didn't see a face in the shadows, but felt a presence. I'll see if I am treated differently when I see them next. Good thing we are moving...
I started this Red Riding Hood saga a couple months ago. Red has had quite an adventure. And there is more to come. Check out the RRH tag for the whole story.
You are just so funny, creative and BRAVE Amanda! I love a good photo story and this is a gem. Very well done and I will wait with bated breath for the next installment - goodness knows where that will take you next ;-)
@megmills Thanks for the kind words and fav, Miss Meg. I appreciate you!! Can't wait til our next adventure. Where should we go this week? The sculpture gardens? Downtown? Sharon Woods?
@eyesmile You are so sweet, Gena. Thanks so much for the kind comments and fav, my friend!
Oh, my! You have such a creative mind! And such creative artistic ability to visually play it out! So brave, too . . .
Coincidentally, I went to a lecture on "Big Bad Wolf Reconsidered" about Red Riding Hood stories, various perspectives and interpretations. It was part of the Chicago Humanities Festival.
@rvwalker Thanks, Ross. My hubby had the idea for the vanity plate. I started out by blurring out his plate and it went from there. Thanks so much for your great comments!
@jyokota I'll bet that your lecture was very interesting and fun. I'd love to have been there for it. Thanks so much for your wonderful comments, my friend. I so love flexing my creativity again. It had been awhile. This project is so good for me in that I can brainstorm shot ideas, write, take photos, etc. And I am a drama queen so I love acting again:).
@istacy1011 What is a total bummer is that I bought my hubby a wolf mask and hoped that it would show in the shadows...a hairy silhouette in the car. Oh well. It will come in handy in upcoming photos. It's fun that he plays along. Thanks, friend.:))
@bobfoto It wasn't a mean comment...just unnecessary. So you know. I bought a wolf mask for Mike, but it didn't show up in the photo. Too dark and shadowy. I had screwed with the exposure compensation but it didn't do much good. I wonder what is the best setting for these types of conditions? ISO 800? I have trouble with low light. This time I came out green not orange?!
@bobfoto Eh? Sheesh, sorry I deleted and bugged you. I was tagging you because you are missing most everything lately and thought that you wouldn't want to miss this. But then why tag. Who cares. Let you miss it. So there.
@amandal - I mean your ISO.... set it to Auto, let the camera do the work. I mean why pay a shedload for a nice camera if you is gonna have to programme it all yourself? M-mode is for wankers.
@bobfoto I shoot in A. But I want to get the settings right...know what I am doing. I like to bark. Actually barking drives me nuts. My kids like to play dog and it drives me crazy. So there;-).
Creative and fun, just like you. Nice touch, that vanity plate. Can't wait to see what Red's got up her sleeve next ...oh no, wait, she has no sleeve in that cape...
@bobfoto My ISO doesn't allow for auto. White Balance does, not ISO. So I have to pick something. And I think that I set the bar pretty high, too. I mean who dresses like a Ho and walks around the neighborhood or jumps like a freak in front of a full bus of people, all for a shot? Give me some credit here.
Ha ha - the curtains in the neighbourhood must have been twitching double-time!! Fab shot Amanda - so creative and well executed! Can't wait for the next instalment - nor can the neighbours! : ))
@bobfoto I just keep it at 400 which works fine much of the time. My 365 ftiend,Paul, who isn't so active this yeat helped me set up my camera to focus with the back button. Trouble is, I can't seem to shoot in auto with this enabled. And I don't know how to disable it. In short, I'm screwed.
red riding ho strikes again - you know you can't keep that girl down !!! yes, looks will be exchanged at the supermarket checkout and neighbours will start hurrying their husbands into the house at night - please hurry with the next shot (great legs!)
@kali66 Or at least some kind of issues.:) Weird, huh? I think that I was just nervous to be out looking like a ho on the street. There is a really friend young man that lived in the house that I was worried about. So far, he hasn't seemed weird around me...not flashing bills or winking or anything, so I think I'm good. No more ho shots outside!!
@cheribug What a tricky tricker I am;-). I just tend to tag whatever is in the shot. I even tagged it ho, I think. I hope that my neighbors enjoy my/our shenanigans. One caught me killing a snow man back in January. I think he thought that was funny, albeit weird as heck. I'd love a neighbor who did stuff like this. Refreshing:). Thanks, Cheryl!!
Thanks so much for your comments on my latest Red shot. Hope to do the next shot this weekend and think that I will keep them inside from here on out. Brrrrr....it's getting too cold to dress like this outside. Maybe she needs to put the hoodie back on.

@amandal - No I like how you posted a comment to me and then deleted it... nice.
And I look forward to the next RRH installment. Will there be a big bed, a little bed, and one that's just right? :^)
@squamloon - What about bowls of porridge?
@dh @amrita21 @wind_of_the_sothern_sea Thanks so much for following the sage, my friends!!
@mrslaloggie I really appreciate your kind comments, lady. That really meant a lot to me. Thank you!!!
