I am in a daze today. Worst sleep last night in a long long time. I'm grateful that is not the norm much any more, but gosh, so miserable to toss and turn for hours. I used to/sometimes get up and play with photos and troll 365 and facebook, but last night I just laid and tossed.
Feel kinda truck rolled over this morning. All foggy. And my knees hurt.
Yesterday, I fell on my knees and head at the gym attempting to do a crow pose (a yoga balance position where you hold yourself up on your arms, leaning forward and feet are on back of elbows. My crow won't fly though. I try and try and down to earth I fall.
But after class, I did the prettiest headstand you ever did see. Or at least it seemed so to me who could not see it, but it felt solid and straight.
Oh, these are my Mother's Day daisies that I was given for serving as a Sunday School teacher that day. It was a rough day to teach...an early start and a packed class...and then there were the kids who were spitting, kicking and screaming. I earned the dang daisies.
I liked how the light was on them here, though I did have some editing fun so this is a bit etsooi:).
Oh my knees, oh my head...Off to prepare to go to the gym again, but no crow this time. Just weights.
My poor friend, I too suffer occasionally from insomnia and I HATE the morning after a night of tossing and turning and counting the minutes until you're supposed to get up. Sending you a hug for this day and a FAV for your wonderful pic :)
Crows themselves should be warning enough not to emulate them. Rest up. I hate the nights where I cannot sleep. Had many in Dec and Jan and would not wish that on anyone. The photo result is calming and I hope you get that in yoga next and in tonight's sleep. :)
Have you tried melatonin? I use it every night. I still wake up several times a night but go straight back to sleep. It doesn't leave you feeling dopey in the morning like sleeping tablets do. Love your photo, especially the reflection. Hope you're feeling better tomorrow.
@juliac Wicked little 5 year olds.;-) Two are brothers and they are awful. I don't know if it is due to parenting or if they have some type of condition or something? Hard, though. Thanks, Julia.
... know that feeling but discovered that after 365ing and playing with photos that there was no chance of any sleep after that. This is a wonderful shot and will make a great memento. Fav
@darylo Thanks so much, Daryl. Once I imitated a crow on an airplane...not the yoga pose, but a crow cawing and then being hand fed...a caw/gagging sound. I'm pretty good at it, but then everyone around me thought I was a nut. Yeah, close quarters and all...should have thought that through better. It was relevant to my conversation, so you know:).
@shepherdmanswife Tried it and it was a fail. Nothing worked. Nothing. So glad that this is not normal...I go through times where it is. Seems like it comes on with stress and too much thinking. Thanks, lady!
Lovely capture Amanda, I haven't had much sleep this week due to working nights, I get about 3-4 hours of sleep after each night shift if I am lucky :(
Fabulous composition... love the simplicity of the EARNED daisies, but with the fantastic light through the glass and shadow, it is a complex shot. big fav! Take care of yourself! Love the part about Sunday School!
Beautiful Amanda, the light through the daisies is really lovely and I especially like the almost lime coloured tones. Hope you get a better night's sleep tonight!
Gorgeous light and tones. Love what you did -to the pic, not your knees and head. Though I did laugh. I remember 'being a tree' in tai chi and turned to see my hubby through the glass panel in the door sniggering at me. Let's just say the class wasn't so peaceful the second after I spotted him! Lol. Oh and fav.
Wow, what a great shot. Love the color, clarity, shadows and the professionalism of this photo. Sorry about your knees and head but your knees kept your head from hitting hard as one puts their hands down when falling. You are one very ambitious, caring and wonderful all around person, and an awesome photographer. You have grown so much. FAV
awesome set up, kiddo. hope you feel better. i ran upstairs this morning forgetting that i'm old and then my left knee told me so. :-( enjoy your youth, you'll need it when you're writing your next bestsellers in your old age. :-)
@yrhenwr Hmm, maybe:). Thanks!!
@edie Edited to hell, but I liked the result. So many fun options now:)!!
@kerristephens Thanks, Kerri:)!
How old were the kids that you were teaching in Sunday school?
@hamble I loved loved that shadow!! Thanks!
@kevin365 Thanks so much, Kevin!
