Last weekend, I had my final one on one training with the professional photographer. We met at a park and she suggested that I bring a model along to practice on.
I chose, Emily, my nearly birthday girl, to come along. She had just lost one of her two front teeth and that smile melts my heart.
She was happy to come as I let her pick her favorite dress to wear and she got to have some special time with me to herself. We love those sweet and rare moments.
This was my favorite shot of the bunch as her heart shown through. This is my girl, who will be 8 years old tomorrow.
Emily is a piece of work, an emotional roller coaster. But at her core is a heart of gold and a smile that could melt an iceberg.
I am so happy and blessed to be her mom.
Happy Birthday, sweet Emily!! Can't believe you are 8!!! Where did the time go?
And thanks so so much for your awesome response to her swing shot yesterday. Sometimes I am so pleasantly surprised by how things are received. That was one of those times!
@newbank The Sun'll come out tomorrow. I was in the play in HS:). Sadly, I was not Annie or Miss Hannigan. Just a lame old orphan and a Boylan sister. I played them up big, though:).
I was just thinking this morning that I must practice portraits and here is a perfect example for me to follow! Love everything about this - the composition, dof, colors and of course, that beautiful subject. Fav for me.
@linnypinny Thank you sooooo much. Shooting in M helped. Having a professional who walked me through placement and settings...that rocked. I need her with me always. I just gotta read up on what I wrote down and practice. Not natural yet. Thanks again!
@kass It was awesome, now if I could only remember what I learned. I tried to write stuff down, but sheesh, it was nice to have her there. Must keep trying. tghanks, Kass!!
@newbank Thanks, sweet lady!
