Luminous Leaves

It depends what catches the light,
It depends what stays in the shadows.

Sometimes the light we reflect
Is not our own.
But still, it illuminates us so.

Just as the sun lights the moon
Just as the moon lights the night sky

Sometimes we beam forth
A light
Not ours
But a gift of light
A touch of love
And the light lives on.
