The final curtain call on the year,
the last sunset;
closing in on all the gifts of 2016,
The gifts it gave me,
That which it lent me, that what it took from me, that which it made of me;
I see them tip into the illusory horizon,
There where the sky meets the sea,
Where suspended in the air
Lie dreams never to be;
I let go of what I thought to be my reality
And embrace the unknown that the new year brings to me
Let go of the nostalgia
Welcome the adventure that 2017 promises to be;
