The countryside of southern England is alive with field after field of rapeseed at the moment. It looks lovely as you take a drive through the country, but it is a nightmare for hay fever sufferers like my girlfriend.
We stopped somewhere in Essex to collect nettle leaves to make a nettle tea - which is apparently helping. Took a few snaps of the fields looking really picturesque... This was my favourite.
Later on, we found a woodland centre, stopped for a coffee and lunch and wondered when the days will get warm again.... Bit cold today... Brrr....
This is a GORGEOUS photo, Andy. And I say, Bless You to your girl friend. Oh...I am trying to figure out how to capture a scene like this. You are incredibly talented.
Beautiful, doesn't seem possible. Also, I know you English folk don't like taking medicine, but Flonase changed my life. Seriously. See if your girlfriend can get some from her doctor!
Great capture - had a mini-debate recently about the yellow of the rapeseed fields at this time of the year - as to whether it's a horrible unnatural yellow or a beautiful one. I like it myself - and that hayfever tip sounds interesting.
This is such a beautiful, Monet-ish image. I will never forget my first sighting of a field of rapeseed on a trip over the pond a few years back. An amazingly beautiful scene to be sure.
thanks for all the fab comments guys... As we drove through the countryside, I wanted to stop somewhere to grab a few snaps... just a random spot... right place / right time :-)...
I was in the UK in May, and was amazed by these golden fields! I also went on a trip to south England-To Dorchester. It was beautiful!
