Stopped at the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green today as I was on my way to Hackney and popped in for today's photo.
The museum is part of the V&A museum and houses their collection of childhood-related toys and objects from the 1600s to the present day. Loads of toys and plenty of interactive things to keep the kids busy...
I've never been in before and only stayed the 5 minutes it took to walk to the upper mezzanine level and take a photo, but it looks quite interesting and I may pop by when I'm not actually 'working'.... Plus it's free so I really don't have an excuse....
Despite being a museum, it does have a feel of an old Victorian prison - and on reading some literature, female inmates from Woking Gaol helped in the building back in the 1870s... Community Service back then eh! And I thought prisoners only broke rocks....
Miserable weather today and for the rest of the week I understand.
Have seen so many photo droplet shots just lately. Think I might give that a go tomorrow evening if I don't spot anything to take throughout the day.
Hmm...seems like a place that I'd like. I'd love to browse and interact with some old toys and such. I think we are never too old to enjoy some toys. Nice perspective in this photo!
so I am curious have you been in many Old victorian female prisions to know what they feel like. hahaha. This sounds like an amazing museum and may have to go one day, especially if it is free.
i am glad you like my wineglasses in color, thank you for taking the time to look at it :)
