Too easy to call this Swan Lake... Not far from my home is a small man made lake which I noticed when driving past, that the trees around the fringes were looking very autumnal. So today I popped there quickly to grab a shot of the colours before all the leaves fall.
Soon as I got to the water's edge, I was met by this chap... He didn't budge and clearly wanted his photo taken... So I obliged him!
He just stood about 2 feet in front of me, taking a great interest in the camera (probably thinking if he could eat it or not) and was quite happy to pose. I offered my hand to show I had no food, he gave it a nibble, but was quite tame and if swans can be friendly, he certainly was...
Beautiful shot. And I have noticed that wild swans are not that friendly, so this was a very unusual fellow. Where I live, we have a lot of tame ones (in a pond that is actually officially called Swan Lake), so my first experience with a wild swan on the Isis got pretty interesting. :)
@andycoleborn Wanstead is pretty posh!! Full of yummy mummies and coffee shops.. miles nicer than when I lived in Holloway anyway, right near the prison, lol.
@andifree@romanysoup Thanks... I think he's prob use to people coming over with bread to feed him so was probably a little disappointed I only took his photo..haha
Beautiful capture of the reflections and the swan. We do not have many/any swans around here. There are black swans further north and south but there are no bodies of water around here to support them.
Great shot and so are all of them that you took here. He was quite a willing subject. Nice capture. The song choice made me smile... Go ahead call this Swan Lake, it works.
Thought I'd commented on this and was coming back to remind myself how beautiful it is. Lovely. Found it on Carole's favs and how mine. Really lovely reflection to the left of the bird, which adds drama. The swan seems curious.
I wish I could feed swans too, but pigeons and ducks are fun to feed too.
Gorgeous Shot A Fav x
