I've been going to watch Pompey play since my dad first took me in 1978. I've probably been to hundreds, if not thousands of games, but today was a first..
The floodlights failed! Not just once... but twice... A bit like waiting ages for a bus then two turn up together!!!
This pic (taken with my phone so many apologies for the dreadful quality - reminds me to check out iphone deals tomorrow) and doesn't actually do justice to how dark it was - this was just after the first blackout and it was in fact quite dark...
A 10 minute or so break before some money was found for the meter and the game restarted... Only for the floodlights to go again with 2 minutes left... Eventually they got them back on and the game ended..
In case you're interested ... And this is for our friend's from Leeds... The game ended 2-2. All Pompey in the first half, good fightback from Leeds in the second.. Fair result probably.
Quickly popped into see Mum & Dad afterwards before driving back to London in the evening...
@seattle for once, this wasn't the club's fault... the whole Portsmouth area had a power failure... @edpartridge ha ha.. we just had to listen to Leeds sing "Pay up Pompey, Pompey Pay Up"... Very original :-)
The club DJ played songs to keep us amused ... Stuff like "Dancing in the moonlight" and other light related stuff!
