These kids had the right idea today... Over 90 degrees with high, high humidity certainly meant the fountain was the place to be..
Two minutes after snapping this, the Canary Wharf security spoil-sports moved these kids along...
It's now 9:40pm and the mercury is still 28 / 82..! Gonna be a hot and sticky night..
Apparently there has been a number of major train failures because of the heat in central London tonight (my line was ok) but people have been trapped for many hours in non-air con carriages.. I hear on the radio passangers have taken matters into their own hands, forced open the doors, got off the trains and walked along the tracks... Don't blame them..
On other news, work won two regional awards today... Will prob mean cakes tomorrow :-)
great shot - a fountain was definitely the place to be today! Those security have no sense of fun! glad I was at home today - NOT a day for travelling - hopefully will be cooler early morning tomorrow on the motorway!

@andycoleborn well gonna risk...what makes it worse they were attached to the neighbours house, she called the pest extermator who could'nt kill them as they're bees, even though they look wasps (honey bees) he gassed them out. the f__ckers have now settled in our garden!!
@azza_l haha... yeah, bees are endangered now aren't they.. One stung me on the neck 2 weeks ago.. bloody hurt and had massive red bump for about a week..
Those Wharf security guards have no sense of what they are guarding. Do you really think these kids are going to take down the area...Ha. Glad we are managing our temps at 74/22. Just perfect! Nice street shot of the kids having a good splash.

@andycoleborn@azza_l I'll still be carrying the iphone and p&s at all times. Will probs only use the canon for candids when in London, don't fancy my chances up here with that mullarkey! Was looking at the 550D first but couldn't justify the extra stretch, to be honest I can't justify even the 500D, haven't even told anyone up here yet!
@andycoleborn@rich57 HAHA very good. the 600d is out now, 500 is a good invesment for sure. any nikon or canon slr is. i go mine jessops , they did a 4 year warrenty for £75 well worth it. even accidental damage...i knows its another 70 but worth looking in to.
i would of thought iphone is easier for candids, i feel more relaxed with it in London, but a lot more cautious too most of the time. iphone is sly
@azza_l@andycoleborn yeah iphone is great, but it's not got a decent zoom and you really can't be moving but a p&s at hip height, slightly zoomed out and just a subtle break in stride works really well. of course you can't always guarantee what you're actually shooting. Then again, in London I don't even bother with the pretense of a hip shot just go for

@rich57 ah cool, so got warrenty? next investment is the nifty fifty. you'll love its their cheapest lense...this months down the lines of course once you got used to the camera :)
@azza_l Yeah, looked at it today. Mine came with 18-55 and 75-300 for now. Made sure I got a case, don't want it falling out of a gola bag in a restaurant!
@azza_l@rich57 yeah, iphones are a bit tricky for candid shots, tried some today the other dy but kept cutting off people's heads... Def easier in central London, I'm soo paranoid around the wharf area nowadays.. reckon the security have my mug on their hit list haha
@andycoleborn My tip for iphone candids is use hipstamatic or any app where you can enable a "touch the screen anywhere mode" and then walk along pretending to be on the phone and then just in front of your subject/prey make out your phones gone loopy so you can hold it up in front of em and subtly touch the screen! Sounds ludicrous but it has worked. Tried a few where I touched the screen with my chin but got nothing except a few blurry bristles!

Yeah, I've tried that (minus the chin action) or just walk about with my finger on the button waiting for the right moment then move the phone into position..
@andycoleborn@azza_l yeah the guy in the shop was telling me all about how he's into shooting flowers and asked what i was into and when i told him street stuff he said ooh that 300 will be good for that, maybe get a monopod too. Probably had Pound signs lighting up in his eyes as he said it though! Oh and is the next 365 meet arranged yet?
