H2O

Ramadan started today, and working with a number of Muslim colleagues, it was interesting to see how some can cope well with not eating or drinking since before 3:30am and are unable to break their fast until 9:00pm whilst others are dead on their feet come their non-existant lunchtime...

Amongst other things, during Ramadan, Muslims are also not permitted sex during daylight hours and should not talk ill of people (gossip)... Ha Ha.. I can confirm none of my colleagues ate, drank or had sex in the office, but I can't say some didn't gossip... Seems some rules are harder to keep than others..!!

And so...To today's photo... nothing special to report, just a running tap into a glass then used one of the pre-set space layers in picnik to give it some umph...
LOL to the Ramadan comments - i had a guy working for me from Beirut - we never talked much about religion but i did know he was Muslim...when it came to Ramadan I asked him if he needed any support through the festivities....he said he'd be fine but thanks for noticing...i saw him in the pub the next lunch time with some guys with a cigar in one hand and a beer in the other....uh...obviously not practicing then!! I felt a right nit!

Interesting shot!

I don't think I'd want to drink that LOL! We had a chap in our cycle club who had converted to Islam and he used to tackle 100 mile rides with no food or water over Ramadan we used to really worry about him but he always made it there and back despite it all!
I went and hit delete by accident when I wanted to reply to your post on my Bell foundry pic. There is no undo on here :-( I have not been inside I imagine it is very fascinating - I will have to go on one of the tours. Thanks for commenting on it ;-)

Some of my daughter's classmates are Muslims and they skip lunch during Ramadan. However, they can be excused from PE classes. That drink looks yucky and yr write-up is funny though :))

I thought this was a donut in the thumbnail, which was much more appealing than now that I see it's water. Very cool looking. One of my son's friends is Muslim and when my son would spend the night during Ramadan he would observe the food restrictions with the family (though mom always offered to make him something). He was always exhausted when I would pick him up from getting up early to eat and we almost always had to stop at a drive through on the way home. Once caught him in the rear view mirror with food in hand, mouth open and eyes closed asleep. Too funny.

Working in Jakarta now James has about half an office observing the fast during Ramadan...I dont know how they dont drink water when its 30+C 24/7 but apparently its the coffee thats the hardest to forgo during office hours.
