Had a good day down in Brighton.. Weather was nice and warn today and it was great being able to sit on the beach at the end of October enjoying some fish n'chips and the fresh sea air...
Also had a good wander around the side streets and fantastic looking pavilion before getting down to the pier to watch the sun set where we were treated to an ariel display by hundreds of starlings.
Bloody knackered now... seem to have spent much of this weekend driving...
thanks guys... @mmp28 haha yeah, think all the birds went to Brighton for the day..., this pic only shows a small section, they were all around us together with hundreds of gulls... was a great sight... @sleepdozer57 is that what it's called? knew thing learnt for the day.... Cheers pete
@andycoleborn Brighton is one of the places famous for its amazing roost of starlings. We must get down there to see it for real. When they move in those amazing 'shoals' as @sleepdozer57 says it is also called a murmeration......The movement is just the same as fish or insects when they move en mass.
@Cherrill Murmeration! that's it. it is just wonderful. i would love to see it for real.
i have seen very brief glimpses..
Aberystwyth, Wales is a top spot off the pier.
