Final day at Mum's which meant, following me and my sister staying with her, tonight will be her first night alone in a large 3 bed house since Dad died...
I know it will be really tough for her and the next few days in particular will be difficult, but I hope she can get to grips with living alone... Poor old girl... She's losing her memory fast and easily confused so am worried for her...
Took this shot in her garden of some berries (no idea what they are) against the setting sun this evening...
That's so sad and so difficult for both of you, especially as you live to far away. I am sure she will adjust in time, thank goodness for telephones! This is a beautiful shot, great composition.
This is beautiful. I can't tell if it was your story that makes me feel this way, or if the picture does it, but I feel the sorrow you were talking about.
Omgosh.. this is wonderful! And on that note.. will keep your mum in my good thoughts and prayers. How awful. My mom had to face the same almost 7 years ago.. :( She is still quite lonely, and spends a lot of her time here with us...
That's a lovely shot. After my Dad's funeral, Mum locked the front door and slept for 2 days...grief is so exhausting, no wonder folk can't think straight. Best wishes to all of you and especially your Mum.
A very untypical shot for you Andy but quite beautiful and 'reflective'. I know the next step along the way now is hard and will bring its own problems. My mum is Surbiton and so is far from me. She found being alone after dad died so lonely and hard but eventually with support they get into thier own little routine and begin to sort things out. It does mean a lot of backwards and forwards travel and rallying around other family and friends but slowly slowly my friend. :-) A fave for you.
thank you guys for your views and wonderful comments :-) @farmboy9155 cheers mate... sad times indeed... @Cherrill thanks Cherrill... yeah, seems as if I'm doing nothing but filling the car up with petrol at the moment... Your right, hopefully she'll get through these first few weeks/months and finds a routine... And remembers to lock the flippin back door!!!!
Just saw this beautiful photo on pp and then saw your comment. What an especially hard time for you and for your family. I have been through all of that with my parents. My best to you in the coming days.
Lovely shot Andy...love the colours and composition
Hope your Mum will settle in time, I can imagine it must be a very sad and difficult time for you all
