Left Agra about 7ish to drive to Jaipur in Rajasthan, stopping off at the abandoned city/fort at Fatephur Sikri.
Built in the early 1500s by the Mughal Emporer, Akber, it served as his capital before he moved it to Delhi shortly after it's completion. It's maily a tourist destination now but there is still a working madrasa and mosque inside (where I took this pic).
I don't normally go for portrait shots in my album but knew it had to be so with this pic... I'd spotted the old gent sweeping and hoped he wouldn't move out of shot before I manged to grab a snap..
@filsie65 whoops - I mena madrasa... Missed the a off the end :-)... haha no, Madras (now Chenni) is a city in south east India... although madras isn't eated over there... It's a UK invention :-)
@andycoleborn Oh gosh - so a madrasa is a religious school and a madras is an English dish with Indian flavours and Madras is a city which doesn't exist any more it's now called Chenni... I'm guessing it's hot there...?
Have I caught up?!
PS What's a working madras?
