One of the World’s leading architectural photographers (her words not mine...), Hélène Binet, http://www.helenebinet.com/about.html called me yesterday as she wanted to take some shots of the Hawksmoor churches in East London for a photographic exhibition in Italy and wanted access to the roof of a couple of tower blocks..
It took me all of 2 seconds to agree - well who wouldn't want to spend a few hours 26 storeys up looking out across London...
She had some fancy dan film camera that she had to view from under a cover - it actually looked about 100 years old but was probably worth more than you average family car...
It was as a lovely sunny and warm day (hurrah.!) but a little hazy so she'll have to come back another day..
Nice rooftops view - love the story though. Be nice to see some of the work of the 'leading architectural photographer!
She's right though - a quick browse through Google and she's the bee's-knees alright. Uses a full frame camera, that's all I could find out about the equipment.
thanks guys @ellida yeah, there's a lot of stuff on the net isn't there... better pics in my opinon than on her website... yeah hopefully she'll send me a copy of one she took - might be cheeky and ask ;-)
@bdb3471 I noticed all the cranes too and there is still an awful lot of building going on in London... recession? what recession...!!!!
