Lady Daphne

Got out of work a little early today, went for a wander and ended up at Tower Bridge just in time to see the bridge open and the SB Lady Daphne sail through...

It actually opens fairly often - all the opening times are listed here along with the vessel passing by and the direction (up stream / down stream) http://www.towerbridge.org.uk/TBE/EN/BridgeLiftTimes/

Thinking about it - I'm going to take my tripod one day and make a little time-lapse movie...

Just checked my tags and 37 times I've photographed this bridge (that's assuming I've tagged every shot..)...!!

i love it when the bridge opens. when i lived in london i got there twice as it opened and as i was always on a bike, all the bikes gather at the front and when it goes down the first few minutes are just a mass of bikes taking over the bridge. feels fantastic! also reminds me of when the spice girls bus jumped over the gap as it opened in their video!
