POETS Day by andycoleborn

POETS Day

Wasn't a case of Poets Day for me... or Piss Off Early Tomorrow's Saturday.... as I was stuck in the office til nearly 6pm..!!

Suddenly remembered my car tax had ran out so I had to rush to the Wharf before the Post Office closed... Got there with a few minutes to spare and handed over £93 for another 6 month's legal driving...

Happy weekend folks..............
Looks like everyone wants to get home after a busy week! Love the motion!

wow that is quite an expensive tax - i thought $ 85 for a year was bad enough so wont complain anymore - nice that you were able to stop for a moment to capture this photo

Love the rush...even the wet streets can look good sometimes!
I do my car tax online... saves finding all the paperwork as big brother checks it for you..!

Really like these type of shots of yours! Ha, I was two days ahead of you forking out the same amount - such fun!

These shots are terrific -- do you carry a tripod with you for the long shots? They are so effective at conveying movement and feelings and I'd like to learn how to do this well.

@azza_l Couldn't afford £170 for the year mate... Just had £1000+ service charge bill, £200 ground rent & Christmas... Credit card's taking a hammering :-)

@taffy Hiya... no, no tripod.... just any flat spot I can find.. Not sure what camera you have, but start playing around with the shutter speed settings, anything from 1/2 a second for people to 1 or more settings for traffic to catch ligh trails..

great motion shot mate - hope you're making the most of the weekend now!

@andycoleborn Thanks -- I have a Nikon D90, and a few different lenses I could draw on. Do you use a zoom or is it a wide angle? My widest wide-angle is a 14-18 but from looking at your photos, it looks like that would be too wide. My 18-105 zoom is a f3.5/5.6 so I'm assuming I'd just have to adjust the shutter speed? Thanks for your help! I just really like these shots.

@taffy Hi.. this was with a four-thirds camera... But I've also Nikon D5000 where these type of pics are easier in fact... Try messing abut with the shutter speed... Am sure you;ll get some fun nd good results
