I try to keep a note from all the countries I've visited and have built up a fair old selection over the years.. Some that you can see here include a five Carribbean Dollar, a ten Rupee note, one Malaysian Ringgit... And a one Million Turkish Lira note.!
I'd visited Turkey before they re-jigged their currancy in 2005 and dropped the last six digits from their currancy..
If I remember rightly, one million Lira was about £3.
Trying to sort out flights to India and was amazed to find out the visa costs £92.. The flight is £500 meaning the visa will add almost 20% to the cost.! What a rip off.!!
@maggiemae You're ok... NZ and Aus get.. a free visa! It's only UK it's so expensive because they know so many Indian's live here and visit on a regular basis... Plus it's a very popular place for UK tourists now..
@adamj haha.. You can't see him but George W is at the back somewhere :-)
I've done the same thing since the mid-80s and I have currency from most of the European countries (currency which has since been replaced by the Euro). All in a large glass jar. In fact, I pulled a quid from it the other day for a cheeky shot :)
I still have some $1 Zimbabwe notes which at the height of the hyper inflation and the 100 trillion dollar note (Zim) was not even worth a spec of pollen in a 100 hectare field of sunflowers.
