I'm back from several days away and I'll catch up with all your wonderful photos and my missing days as soon as I can.
Today was tough with my Dad in a nasty road accident, though he has walked away from it and nobody else was involved. With the shocking news and the worry it was late in the day before I knew Dad was ok and then I thought to take my camera out. This beautful feather, caught in a moment, reminded me of the fragility yet the beauty of life.
Firstly, I am very sorry to hear about your father and very relieved to hear that he made it out ok, how very frightening for you. Secondly, well done for taking anything at all, it's a super shot.
You have the same reactions to things as I do. I am glad your dad is okay, and that the feather captured what you were feeling! Life is precious and fragile! Love the branch holding the feather too!
Nice shot and positioning of the light.
Glad that your dad walked away, but still a frightening experience.
I used to look forward to the day when I would feel that I didn't have to worry about my children all the time...then I realized that day would never come. Instead, as parents get older, we just add worrying about them to our ever present child worries.
@emrob Thanks Mandy. Dad has been overwhelmed today with the officialdom that now surrounds the accident but I'm still just full of releif that he is ok and it's a bit of a miracle.
@jackie8 Thanks Jackie. The subject presented itself in the brief moments I spared for thinking about photography on such a day but it summed up where I was.
@gamelee Not nearly as inventive as your gorgeous "sail" but it was all I could manage in the 30 sec wander around the garden. Some days are like that, huh?!
@wordpixman 1 day on and I think the shock has given way to the grind of the paperwork, dealing with insurance companies, police etc. It's miraculous he walked away. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts on Dad's behalf.
Lovely shot and a very personal subject. After attending countless car accidents, I know tragedy can occur so fast and for so little reason. I'm glad your dad is ok.
@mwbc@judis@heidit@jimmyveee Thank you all. We're sunk in the depths of the paperwork now after Dad's accident but having seen the car at the scrapyard yesterday, I'm even more grateful that he walked away and nobody else was involved.
Glad that your dad walked away, but still a frightening experience.
