Hey- would there have been someone else there? Just imagine the photographer in the picture- presumably you all suffer from the same thing? It's like I've never been at any family and friend event!!!!
Yeah, welcome to the club. I sometimes use the self-timer but it does strike of vanity. You should spend more time with another keen photographer and become the subject.
Well delayed timer and tripod can help but it is a hassle carting the tripod around. I usually ask someone else to take a couple of shots with me in them, if I want evidence that I was there.lol...even if they are bad shots they are souvenirs and then hopefully I have the ones of everyone else, taken more the way I want. This one is very nice the way you have them casually posed along the bridge.
Nice shot. If you haven't got a tripod with you and delayed timer, you can do what we do with our walking group photo. David takes a picture of all of the group and then I take a picture of him and we Photoshop him into the shot.
