Patriotic pantry

Macclesfield's treacle market is a huge event now and well worth a visit. After being held on the worst weather day of every month for about the past 6 months, the hardy traders certainly deserved today's balmy weather.
Why 'Treacle' market? Very patriotic image.

@andyr Our town has a nickname locally of "treacle town" which I'm told is after a treacle lorry turned over in the 1950s on our main road. A committee got the market going again and it's incredibly busy and vibrant.

Oh yummy - a treacle market sounds heavenly! Love the flags. A good friend of mine comes from Macclesfield. Do you know the Immers?

I can just imagine the feel of this, you have captured the mood really well. The flags really add to the jolly air, and everyone seems very intent on buying their portions of treacle.

@happysnap We're quite a small town but the name doesn't ring a bell.
